Privacy Policy
ChangeMoment Mental Health Centre respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. What we collect
We collect only what we need to provide counselling: your name and contact details, the information you give us when booking or writing to us, your insurance details if you ask us to bill directly, and the clinical records created during your care. Our website does not use advertising cookies. Optional analytics cookies remain disabled unless you choose to allow analytics.
Optional website analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to understand which public pages and languages are used. Analytics stays off until you choose Allow analytics. We send only controlled page information such as language, page type and a path without query text; we do not send names, contact details, form contents, health information or advertising identifiers. You can change your choice at any time from the website footer.
Why we collect it
To arrange and provide counselling, to communicate with you about appointments, to bill you or your insurer, and to meet our professional and legal obligations. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Consent
We collect, use and disclose your personal information with your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or professional limits, by writing to us. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to continue providing care.
Confidentiality and its limits
What you share in session stays confidential, with narrow exceptions required by law: a risk of serious harm to you or another person, suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order or subpoena. Your counsellor will explain these limits at your first session.
Service providers
We use Jane App, a Canadian practice-management platform, to handle booking, records and payments; its servers are located in Canada. Our website is hosted on Amazon Web Services. These providers process information on our behalf under contract and may not use it for their own purposes.
Storage and retention
Clinical records are stored securely and encrypted, and are kept for the minimum period required of Registered Clinical Counsellors in British Columbia — normally seven years after your last session, or seven years after a client reaches the age of majority. After that they are securely destroyed.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, and ask how it has been used. We will respond within 30 days. Some clinical material may be withheld where the law allows.
Contact and complaints
Write to our Privacy Officer at info@changemoment.ca or call +1 (604) 366-6690. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
