Infidelity and betrayal
A betrayal, secrecy, disappointment, or repeated hurt may have made it difficult to feel safe with each other.

A supportive space to feel heard, rebuild connection, and find your way back to each other.
At ChangeMoment Mental Health Center, our couples counselling services support partners who feel stuck in conflict, emotionally distant, disconnected, or unsure how to communicate without hurting each other. Our Registered Clinical Counsellors provide in-person couples counselling in Coquitlam, BC, and online couples counselling across British Columbia, helping couples slow down difficult conversations, understand repeating patterns, rebuild trust, and create a more secure emotional connection. Whether you are facing ongoing arguments, intimacy concerns, life transitions, or a painful rupture in the relationship, our team offers a compassionate and evidence-informed space where both partners can feel respected and supported.

A betrayal, secrecy, disappointment, or repeated hurt may have made it difficult to feel safe with each other.
You may find yourselves having the same conflict again and again without feeling truly understood.
You may live together or love each other, but still feel lonely, unseen, or disconnected.
Conversations may quickly turn into defensiveness, silence, criticism, or emotional shutdown.
Changes around parenting, immigration, work, family pressure, finances, or health may be affecting the relationship.
You may feel less emotionally or physically close and not know how to talk about it without shame, blame, or fear.
At ChangeMoment Mental Health Center, we respect and support diverse relationships, identities, cultures, and ways of building connection.

A calm structure, a clear next step, and room to move at your pace.
We begin by helping both partners slow down the intensity of conflict, so conversations can feel safer and less reactive.
Together, we explore the repeating pattern that takes over during arguments, distance, or emotional shutdown, so the problem becomes the cycle, not either partner.
We support couples in expressing deeper feelings, needs, and longings in a safer way, helping partners move toward repair, trust, and closeness.
Intimacy and sexual concerns are often connected to emotional safety, trust, stress, past hurt, body image, communication, resentment, or feeling unseen in the relationship. In couples counselling, we create a respectful and non-judgmental space where partners can talk about intimacy and sex with more honesty and less shame. Our counsellors help couples understand what may be creating distance, how emotional disconnection may affect physical closeness, and how both partners can communicate their needs, boundaries, fears, and desires in a safer way. The goal is not to pressure either partner, but to support deeper understanding, emotional closeness, consent, and a more compassionate connection.

Hope turns each moment into Progress.
Progress in couples counselling can begin when both partners feel less alone in the relationship. You may start to recognize the pattern instead of blaming each other. Conversations may become softer, more honest, and less reactive. Over time, couples may feel more emotionally safe, more connected, and more able to repair after conflict. Progress does not mean never struggling; it means learning how to turn toward each other with more understanding, care, and respect.
